Goble and his wife moved to the Black Hills area of South Dakota in 1977 and remain there to this day. In more than thirty books, Paul has drawn primarily upon traditional stories of the Lakota, Cheyenne, and Blackfoot Native American tribes. Paul has given his original paintings to the South Dakota Art Museum where they are currently on display. The following illustrations are originals from his most recent book entitled Tipi: Home of the Nomadic Buffalo Hunters.
Gary Steinley started painting in his mid-fifties and after three decades of teaching English and education courses, has moved into full time painting. His primary residence is in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where he paints the nearby countryside and maintains a studio. Original works of art are offered in the museum store.
Oscar Howe is an artist who is widely recognizes as representing the best of the rich heritage and character of this unique lands and its people. He was born on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation, in South Dakota in 1915. Howe comes from an honored family, and continued on to become an assistant art professor at the University of South Dakota, and artist in residence, and an Assistant Director of the W.H. Over Museum. He died in October of 1983. Oscar Howe, a South Dakotan, is truly a credit to us all. The museum store offers Oscar Howe reproductions.

Jacob Helling
Betty L. Beer has been drawing portraits and caricatures since childhood. She is especially interested in the human figure in the context of every day life. She believes that our daily thoughts and actions build a story which can be seen in our gestures and facial expressions. The human face and body are a universal language. She paints directly from life.
Jim Pollock resides in Pierre, South Dakota and paints picturesque landscapes using watercolors.
